On Oct. 19th, the first “National Massive Entrepreneurship and Massive Innovation Activity Week” was synchronously initiated in Beijing and other seven cities. Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and prime minister of State Council Li Keqiang presented the ceremony held in the main venue in Beijing Zhongguan Village and inspected the theme exhibition areas. Premier Li Keqiang stressed that we should stimulate the creativity of the society and built new development engine through the structural reform of massive entrepreneurship and massive innovation. As one of the representatives of VC institutions, Chairman of ZSVC Yuemeng Chen attended the kickoff ceremony of the activity week and received cordial reception by Premier Keqiang Li.
On the kickoff ceremony, Premier Keqiang Li uncommonly disrupted the established agenda and made an impromptu speech. After the ceremony when it was time for visiting, Premier Li went up to the platform. He was not supposed to speak today but infected by the warm atmosphere on site, he wanted to say a few words for the entrepreneurs and innovators. The participants of 9 venues in 8 cities around the country shared the big “surprise”.
Premier Li said: at present, our country has entered new normal in development and is at the critical stage for the transition of new and old development momentum and mode. We should stimulate the creativity of the whole society and build new development engine through the structural reform of massive entrepreneurship and massive innovation. Despite of the sluggish world economy and the unrest financial market, China maintained 6.9% in economic growth in the first three quarters, especially maintained high employment ratio, mainly owe to the important support of “massive entrepreneurship and massive innovation”. Massive entrepreneurship and massive innovation also vigorously promoted structural adjustment and advanced the development that was excessively dependent on natural resources to the development that was more dependent on human resources, promoted a high and medium speed economic growth and marched towards the middle and high level.
Premier Li said that it has become new consensus of the era to win the future with innovation. “massive entrepreneurship and massive innovation” spirit was shaping the new characters of contemporary Chinese. He hoped China will achieve new glory in development with more new entrepreneurship and innovation stories.
Before the start of the kick-off ceremony, Premier Keqiang Li cordially meet over dozen of representatives of famous VC companies, including ZSVC Yuemeng Chen, IDG Xiaoge Xiong, Sequoia Capital Nanpeng Shen, Softbank Yan Yan, Legend Chuanzhi Liu, Legend Capital Nengguang Wang, 360 Hongwei Zhou. Chairman of ZSVC Yuemeng Chen had a cordial exchange with the premier. Yuemeng Chen firstly thanked premier for his concern and support to the development of VC industry. He then reported that Hangzhou of Zhejiang was a hotland for entrepreneurship and innovation in China and had profound deposits and fertile soil for entrepreneurship and innovation. In recent years, Hangzhou had experienced fast development of VC industry, which had greatly advanced innovation and entrepreneurship. He firmly believed that VC industry in Hangzhou and even around China would make more contribution in the trend of “massive entrepreneurship and massive innovation”
The premier highly recognized the important role and great driving force of VC institutions in entrepreneurship and innovation and encouraged VC enterprises in Zhejiang would make more contribution to massive entrepreneurship and massive innovation.
