Where does my letter go? Zhejiang Province.
On November 2, about 200 American Zhejiang merchants, sci-tech personnel, officials of municipal and district governments in Zhejiang Province, entrepreneur representatives, 30 entrepreneurs of listed companies who are also alumni of Zhejiang University, 30 banks and investment institutions gathered together at “2017 China· American Zhejiang Merchants Visit China and Zhejiang-American Exchange Conference” in Hangzhou. The conference aimed to promote the introduction of American sci-tech innovative achievements and high-end sophisticated talents into Zhejiang Province, give full play to the appeal and influence of Zhejiang University in local economy, propel Sino-American and Zhejiang-American exchanges, and encourage a batch of overseas high-level talents and high-tech projects to return to Zhejiang. Yeyu Hua, Founder and CEO of Zheshang Venture Capital, attended the activity at invitation.
In the morning, Deshui Jin, Chairman of Development Committee of Zhejiang University, Jun Lin, Deputy Director of Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Zhenwei Zhu, Member of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Province Hangzhou Yuhang District and Executive Deputy District Director of Yuhang District People’s Government, and Guang Lin, Chairman of Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in America, attended and made a speech. Jianhua Yan, Vice President of Zhejiang University, hosted the conference. Ze Zhang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Academic Board of Zhejiang University, made a speech in the title of “Cultural Atmosphere of Sci-tech Innovation and Achievement Transformation”.
From the 120-year history of Zhejiang University, Deshui Jin expounded great significance of talent, learning and sci-tech in propelling social development. According to Deshui Jin, to construct a powerful socialism country, it is necessary to drive the development with innovation, give full play to sci-tech innovation. In the new era, Zhejiang University is striving to construct “double first-class”; construction of Zhejiang University Alumni Enterprise Headquarter Park aims to attract global talents and gather innovative highland.
Jun Lin greeted American Zhejiang merchants to the homeland, and hoped that they can fully grasp new opportunities of investment in Zhejiang, focus on investment in new fields and serve Zhejiang development sincerely. Under the guidance of the strategy that strengthens the province with talents, actively attract domestic and overseas excellent talents to innovate and carve out in Zhejiang and actively incubate new dynamic momentums.
“With continuously deepening transition driven by innovation, the sense of mission has led us to gather overseas Chinese’s resources and strengths; create a bigger and wider platform to reach mutual benefit and win-win future.” Guang Lin said.
Zhejiang University Innovation Institute International and Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in America signed international talent cooperation framework cooperation. Both parties will deepen cooperation in the construction of elite teacher resources, training and education, overseas entrepreneurship practice, transformation of sci-tech entrepreneurship projects, talent introduction and regular exchange activities; complement each other’s advantages, grow together, promote cultivation of international talents, and provide ceaseless fresh troops for future development in Zhejiang and realization of Chinese dream.
In the afternoon, Zhejiang University Innovation Institute International introduces its key project at present－Zhejiang University Alumni Enterprise Headquarter Park. As an important part of strategic cooperation between Zhejiang University and Yuhang District, this park will exert disciplinary, talent and resource integration advantages of Zhejiang University and regional advantage of West Hangzhou Scientific Innovation Corridor, rely on policy supports from Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou City and Yuhang District, actively attract alumni enterprises and social enterprises, set up global, national or regional enterprise headquarter, form an economic park and new economic types characterized by enterprise headquarters, devote to building high-tech R&D, incubation and industrialized innovation and entrepreneurship platform, contribute to development of national innovation impetus strategy and local economic and social development. Hangzhou Future Sci-tech City was also introduced. It is one of the 4 future sci-tech cities in China, determined by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission; it is the third batch of National Overseas High-level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, as well as innovation core of west Hangzhou Scientific Innovation Industrial Gathering Area during the 12th Five-year Period in Zhejiang Province.
During road shows of innovative projects, 10 American innovative projects took part in road shows and comment interaction, including intelligent fresh cold chain system based on Block Chain of Internet of Things and big data, cell therapy and its high-end technical service platform and so on. Moreover, 40 projects took part in pertinent exchanges and cooperation negotiations with investment attraction representatives and investment institutions.
